VertAcc
VertAcc Solutions · Ottawa

Financial technology,
with a firm behind it.

We are an accounting firm that writes its own software. Our platform keeps a company’s books, filings and reporting current, and our own accountants, advisors and engineers do the work on top of it — which is why the software fits the work rather than the reverse. We also build at national scale, including the civic platform now live in Guyana.

✓ It balances. Every debit posted has a matching credit, to the cent.

Enforced by a database trigger, not by the interface — an entry that doesn’t balance cannot be written in the first place.

Meet VertAcc AI

Ask it a question about
your own numbers.

It works inside your live books, not alongside them — so it answers from the same ledger your accountant works in, and shows you the entries behind every figure. Ask it to post something or send an invoice and it writes the action down and stops, because nothing that moves money runs until you approve it.

Our platforms

We write the software
our own work runs on.

One is our own accounting platform, built and run in-house and used by our clients every day. The other is a national civic platform we built and launched in Guyana — one part of the work we do there.

VertAcc Platform

Live with clients today

The accounting system where the AI does the work, not just the talking. It runs the books, prepares the filings and produces the reporting itself — trained on our own accounting data, closed to the open internet, and checked against real client books. Every manual control a senior bookkeeper expects is still there when you want it.

Who is behind it

Most accounting software is built by software companies.
Ours is built by accountants.

VertAcc has been an accounting firm for over two decades. We did this work by hand before we automated it, and we were calling ourselves the AI accountants of the future while most of the profession was still deciding whether that meant anything. The platform is what came out of that.

So we are not a vendor who hands you a login and disappears. Our developers build the system, our accountants keep your books in it and file your returns from it, and the two sit in the same firm — which is why a change you ask for takes days rather than a place on somebody else’s roadmap. Everything below is how that is held to account.

Every action is attributed
Each entry, edit and AI suggestion is written to an audit log with a timestamp and the name behind it — ours or yours. If you ever need to know who touched a figure and when, the answer is a record, not a recollection.
The AI asks before it moves money
When VertAcc AI is asked to post an entry, send an invoice or prepare a remittance, it writes a pending action and stops. Nothing runs until you approve it, and that gate is enforced in the code rather than left to the model’s judgement.
Our accountants file, and sign for it
The platform prepares your returns and tracks them to their deadlines. A qualified accountant on your VertAcc team then reviews each one, submits it, and records the confirmation number against the filing — so a filed return is a fact you can check, not a status someone flipped.
Canadian records, Canadian rules
Your books sit on secure servers in Canada and never leave the country. They are kept to CRA record-retention requirements and handled under PIPEDA, access is limited to the people actually working your file, and our privacy policy sets out what we hold in terms you can read without a lawyer.
